Chapter 8:
It sounds right about nearly impossible to just drop everything your life, take the faith you have to embark in a new chapter in your life. In life there are some occasions where you just have to do that. Like a new job in a different state or country, a death in the immediate family or even choosing the right school you will study in. Jesus asked all 12 of his disciples to follow him with no worries or doubt; and they did. Even if they were afraid during that storm while on the boat, they knew who to call out too and in what name. The centurion listened to his heart and not his mind on what he was told about Jesus’s miracles, he believed when that wasn’t even his rabbi or even his religion. “ I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. I live by faith in the son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me”. Galatians 2:20. We can no longer just think about ourselves and what benefits us. All Jesus did during this time was listen to people problems and helped them. I don’t think anyone asked Jesus if he needed something or to be prayed for. He completely put all of his needs aside to tend people, even the ones who were outcasted in society. Is it a challenge to not think of yourself, to put someone you know first ? yes it can be. But with everyday that passes may we ask him to put that heart of compassion within us. “ Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” Psalms 51:10.
