Chapter 12:
The pharisees were only there close to Jesus just to observe him and see if he falls. They probably had envy of him becase he knew so much more than them. All they ever did their whole lives was to prepare themselves with the old testament. But Jesus came along and he was a challenge to their intellect. What they thought was good in obeying the law was more twisted as they made it up themselves, whatever worked best for them. Only they were allowed to sin and make it seem like it was okay to the people. Have you ever felt like someone was just standing behind you, waiting for you to stumble? to put their finger at you and make you feel like you aren good enough? I bet Jesus was no embarrassed of everything they said about him if not he was worried for their souls. “ Have i not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9. To have God say that he is by your side is way more than enough to handle your battles in life. Not only is he all present, he is all knowing. Jesus in verse 40, prophecies his death. He also refers, the heart of the earth to be hell in the center of earth. Explaining to them that when a demon is casted out, it doesn’t just leave and that’s the last of it, if not, he starts to search around for an empty soul; sometimes even comes back when that person wasn’t spiritually strong enough to maintain the demon out. Don’t let being distracted take you away from the vision and life God has for you.
